For those earning pounds 70,000- pounds 80,000 the average reduction is pounds 14,000 and for those on more than pounds 80,000, pounds 46,000.
TRIDENT: The most recent estimated cost of the Trident programme is pounds 10.5bn, of which 60 per cent has been spent so far, Malcolm Rifkind, the Secretary of State for Defence, said. Anticipated total defence expenditure for the current year is pounds 24.2bn.
