Your support makes all the difference.David Cameron send a Christmas card to the journalist who wrote an unflattering biography of him released earlier this year, she has revealed.
Isabel Oakeshott appeared to still be on the Prime Minister’s Christmas card list despite repeating unflattering allegations regarding a pig that made Mr Cameron a target of ridicule.
The story revolved around a claim about a supposed initiation ceremony regarding a pig during Mr Cameron's time at Oxford University.
Ms Oakeshott stressed at the time that claims, which spawned the 'pig gate' media row, had not been verified and were presented as-is.
Friends of David Cameron said at the time that the claims were 'utter nonsense'.
“Delighted to receive my annual festive greeting from David Cameron… not off the Christmas card list yet!” she tweeted.
The journalist's book, which was backed by former Tory treasurer Lord Ashcroft, was called Call Me Dave.
Mr Cameron’s card features picture him and Samantha Cameron standing on the steps of Number 10 and smiling.
The card was revealed by Downing Street last week.
Labour’s Jeremy Corbyn released his official Christmas card on Monday. It features a festive scene including a snow-covered bike – a possible reference to Mr Corbyn’s transport of choice.
The House of Commons breaks for Christmas recess on Thursday 17 December and returns on 5 January 2016.
