Boris Johnson has dismissed speculation that he doesn’t brush his hair.

The prime minister was asked about the state of his locks when on a visit to Greater Manchester. A reporter asked Mr Johnson a question about the state of his hair. He told Mr Johnson that he was posing the question on behalf of his curious mother.

The journalist said: “Your hair is all over the place and [my mother] wants to know why.” Mr Johnson responded saying: “It's something to do with my hair but I can tell you I do brush it.”

The interview took place when Mr Johnson was in Bolton to visit an Openzone training facility.

The prime minister was keen to add that he tries to do his best with his hair saying: “I have a brush in my office.”

Mr Johnson then apologised to the journalist for the state of his hair and said “will you give your mother my very best for a very happy Christmas.”
