Police have uncovered a pounds 2.5m international fraud involving bogus credit cards. The TSB and the Midland Bank were among several banks and financial organisations thought to have suffered losses.
The bogus cards were used in France, Belgium and the Netherlands as well as parts of England and Wales. Expensive electrical goods and cars were among items bought with them. One car dealer was tricked into selling a BMW in the swindle, which police said was controlled from the West Midlands.
