The mother of the murdered police officer Yvonne Fletcher last night returned from a trip to Libya where she met Colonel Gaddafi, and said she hoped for reconciliation between the two countries. Queenie Fletcher, 61, of Wiltshire, went to Libya with a television crew which is making a documentary about relations between the two countries 10 years after Ms Fletcher died.
She was killed while on duty during a demonstration by Libyan students outside the embassy in London in April 1984.
