BRITISH Rail plans to run more services during next week's 24-hour signal workers' strike, the 13th stoppage called by the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers. Railtrack said 40 per cent of the network would continue to run from noon on Monday. The figure was disputed by the union, while BR said that more trains would run than last week.
Last night it emerged that two supervisors, members of the Transport Salaried Staffs Association, had been disciplined for refusing to work a level- crossing during one of the strikes by signalling workers.
