A man arrested in north London last Wednesday after an MI5 anti-terrorist operation appeared before Arbour Square magistrates in east London charged with possessing explosives and conspiring to cause an explosion.
Robert Fryers, for whom no age or address was given in court, did not speak during the five-minute hearing. He was brought with an armed escort from Paddington Green police station, west London.
