Your support makes all the difference.The owners of a 10-ton lorry that went out of control on a steep hill, causing the deaths of six people, were fined pounds 5,000, the maximum that could be imposed, by magistrates in Halifax, West Yorkshire.
Fewston Transport Ltd, of Skipton, North Yorkshire, admitted using a heavy goods vehicle with defective brakes. The eight-wheeler, carrying 20 tons of stone, hit a BT van in Sowerby Bridge last September. The lorry and van crashed into shops, killing both drivers, three women and a two-year-old girl.
