Injured boy sent 2,000 pounds bill

THE parents of a 14-year-old boy who was injured when his head hit the windscreen of a school bus have been sent a bill for pounds 2,000 by the coach firm.

The company has also banned Carl Anderson from its buses, even though he claims he was thrown down the aisle into the screen when the driver braked suddenly to avoid a car. Carl, of York, broke the glass and was knocked out and suffered head injuries. He spent a night in hospital.

Philip Brown, director of Eddie Brown Tours, said Carl 'is always standing up in the bus. When asked to sit down he is abusive and rude to my staff'. He did not expect the parents to pay, but the firm 'wanted them to know just how much it cost us'.

Carl's mother, Gillian Anderson, a 35-year-old nurse, said she and her husband Ian have had no complaints about their son's behaviour on school buses.
