The world's first test-tube burger has been revealed in London and tasted by two volunteers who have given their verdict on the synthetically created meat.
Austrian food researcher Hanni Rutzler described the food as having an 'intense taste close to meat' but conceded that it was not 'that juicy' compared to regular meat.
While author Josh Schonwald said 'there's a leanness to it but the bite feels like a conventional hamburger.'
The pair were given the lab-grown pieces of meat after frying them in a little sunflower oil and butter. The meat was made from cow steams cells and coloured using beetroot and saffron.
