Timelapse footage of the change in weather over London

After a bout of hot and dry weather, commuters and residents welcomed the cooler temperature this weekend.

The time-lapse video shows London’s Canary wharf changing for the colder and wetter, over a 24 hour period, following the heatwave that took over the city.

UK weather: The latest Met Office forecast

Rainfall and thunder stormed the country over the weekend, a sharp contrast to last week, which saw temperatures rising to the mid-thirties.

Parts of the UK saw more than a month’s worth of rain in just a few hours, as the downpour caused the Met Office to issue an amber warning for Northern Ireland.

Why is it so hot in the UK and around the world?

However, the rain will not last, as London and the South East will soon be feeling the heat again, as the forecast shows it will be 30c again by the end of the week.

The UK heatwave caused widespread discomfort, especially for commuters who saw the temperature rocket to 40c on the Central Line.
