UK weather: We’re heading into a cold snap

Temperatures will plummet from a mild morning in the mid teens to around 10 degrees.
Met Office weather forecaster, Alex Deakin said the “cold spell won’t last all that long” with temperatures growing gradually milder through Friday and into the weekend.
The wet weather has been “concentrated” in the north west of Scotland, where there’s currently still a Met Office yellow warning for heavy rain.
Wales, western parts of England and Northern Ireland will also see heavy rain on Wednesday morning with showers moving eastwards over the course of the day.
East Anglia will see a few showers around lunchtime before a band of heavy rain moves across the country mid-afternoon. Western areas will brighten up, with Wales even seeing some sun later today.
Temperatures could reach 17 degrees in London and the southeast before the rain hits. This will bring with it a cold weather front and a drop to around 10 degrees.
Winds will turn northerly as we move into Thursday and it could get “very gusty.” This will bring with it much lower temperatures than we’ve been experiencing with frost and “wintery showers” forecast for northern parts of Scotland.
Wales and eastern parts of England may experience outbreaks of rain on Thursday but elsewhere should see sunshine.
Friday morning brings a frosty start across the country, but the weather will turn warmer in time for the weekend.
