What a difference a day can make. Yesterday afternoon saw a mad rush of commuters attempting to get home before the tube strike began at 18:30.

We captured the chaotic scenes at Oxford Circus, one of the busiest London underground stations. The station briefly shut as it was unable to deal with the large crowds trying to get home.

The strike is expected to end late Thursday evening, with services back to normal by Friday morning.
