UK weather: Sunshine to continue in England over the weekend, but it's bad news for Scotland and Northern Ireland
After strong sunny spells in recent days, a dip in temperature will see colder and cloudier weather this weekend
Forecasters are predicting a sunny and pleasant weekend throughout England as the recent stretch of good weather continues.
Today will see cool and cloudy spells in the south to start off with before settling to sunny patches. Average temperatures in England will be around 11 degrees, with a maximum temperature of 20 degrees.
However, it's bad news for Scotland and Northern Ireland as they are set to miss out on the sunshine. Instead, the Met Office has warned them to prepare for the possibility of windy gales, lingering chilly spells and cloudy weather.
Throughout the UK, tomorrow's weather will see more mellow conditions as the sunshine continues. Most areas will be largely dry, sunny and pleasantly warm. Winds will decrease across Scotland and the North of England.
The outlook for the beginning of next week suggests settled and mixed conditions, with the Met Office predicting generally pleasant, warm days with some cloudy patches and rain from Tuesday.
