Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

A lottery player is sitting on a ticket that will make them £1 million richer, it was revealed today.

The unclaimed EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle ticket was bought in north Norfolk, and the National Lottery is urging people to check if they may be the secret millionaire.

Every week one player in the UK wins £1 million prize but the winner from the draw on July 30 is yet to claim their prize.

For every line of numbers picked in the EuroMillions lottery, a raffle selection is printed on each player's ticket in the UK.

The winning selection was CTP063014 and the ticket-holder has until 5.30pm on Wednesday January 26 next year to make their claim.

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the deadline, the prize money plus all the interest it has generated will go to the Good Causes pot.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: "We're desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings - this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody's life.

"Being able to guarantee a UK millionaire every week with Millionaire Raffle is fantastic and we're urging everyone to check their old EuroMillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding so that this prize can turn someone into the newest member of the lottery millionaire club.

"Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa. We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win."
