Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. An estimated £100 million will be up for grabs on Friday - one of the biggest jackpots in EuroMillions history.
If a single ticketholder wins they would be the third biggest winner in EuroMillions history, Camelot said.
Europe's biggest lottery winners were husband and wife Colin and Chris Weir, from Largs, Ayrshire, who scooped £161 million last month.
A UK ticketholder also won the second biggest EuroMillions jackpot - £113m in October last year - but decided to keep their identity secret.
The win on Friday would put the ticketholder on a par with David Bowie, who has an estimated fortune of £100m according to the Sunday Times Rich List which placed him 703rd this year.
The winner would have more than double the wealth of Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow (£48m) and more than treble that of film star Keira Knightley (£30m), according to the Rich List.
The winning numbers in last night's EuroMillions draw were 46,08,02,10 and 19 and the lucky stars were 05 and 09.
