A physics teacher who lost her job after having sex with a pupil in an airplane toilet was “set up” because she is “good looking”, according to her brother.
Eleanor Wilson was banned from the profession after a disciplinary panel found she engaged in oral sex and sexual intercourse with a sixth-form student on the way back from a school trip to Geneva.
Ms Wilson denies any inappropriate conduct claiming the pair simply “hugged on occasion” but now her brother, Jethro Wilson, has claimed she is the victim of “lads pestering her because she is a young teacher”.
He also denies she was dismissed from the Bristol school, which has not been named to protect the child, claiming she left voluntarily “because of all the hassle she was getting from the younger students”.
“A student can easily say one thing that has ruined a teacher’s career. She has worked seven years for it and to suddenly out of the blue stop because of lads pestering her because she is a young teacher,” he told the MailOnline.
“She mutually left the school but nothing sexually happened with the student and for it to come out that it was on the plane was a bit bizarre really.”
The conduct tribunal heard Ms Wilson had allowed pupils over the age of 18 to have a drink in a bar in Switzerland on the way back from a school visit to see the Hadron Collider in 2015.
On the plane, she entered the toilet, kissed and engaged in a sex act and intercourse with the teenager, the panel heard.
The teacher, from west Yorkshire, later continued the relationship, messaging the teenager and meeting outside of school, according to evidence presented at the tribunal.
The National College for Teaching and Leadership panel said at the hearing they found the pupil’s version of events to be credible.
Polly O’Malley, chairman of the professional conduct panel, said at the time: “There was evidence that the teacher’s actions were deliberate and continued for a significant length of time despite her understanding that her behaviour was inappropriate.
“There was no evidence to suggest that the teacher was acting under duress.”
It comes as Avon and Somerset Police said enquiries were ongoing into the case after the 28-year-old voluntarily presented herself for interview in 2016.
Ms Wilson is now believed to be in the Royal Navy.
