A passenger helped to land an aircraft diverted to Dublin Airport after its co-pilot fell ill.

The off-duty pilot was a passenger on a Lufthansa 747 flying from Newark to Frankfurt this morning when the crew member suffered a severe migraine and was incapacitated.

His efforts were “certainly appreciated,” said a Lufthansa spokeswoman.
