The capital's roads will be put under extra pressure from traffic during the Olympic Games next year, Transport for London (TfL) admits, due to the special lanes being reserved for athletes and officials.
The admission came after Hugh Robertson, the Minister for Sport and the Olympics, told The Independent yesterday that the variety of challenges facing the transport network during the event was "a worry".
TfL has already said that a 30 per cent drop in commuters will be needed on the London Underground to allow for extra visitors during the Games.
