London’s long-awaited Night Tube will finally become operational in August, the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has confirmed.

The 24-hour weekend service is set to begin on the Central and Victoria Lines on 19 August.

The Northern, Piccadilly and Jubilee lines will begin offering 24-hour weekend services in autumn, according to London Underground.

“I have made getting the Night Tube up and running a priority, and London Underground has now confirmed that services on the first two lines will launch on 19 August,” Mr Khan said.

“The Night Tube is absolutely vital to my plans to support and grow London’s night time economy - creating more jobs and opportunities for all Londoners. The constant delays under the previous Mayor let Londoners down badly.”

Here is TfL’s breakdown of how frequent trains will be

Jubilee and Victoria: Trains running on average every 10 minutes across the entire lines

Central: Trains running approximately every 10 minutes between White City and Leytonstone and approximately every 20 minutes between Ealing Broadway to White City and Leytonstone to Loughton/Hainault. No service between North Acton and West Ruislip, Loughton and Epping and Woodford and Hainault.

Northern: Trains running on average every eight minutes between Morden and Camden Town and approximately every 15 minutes from Camden Town to High Barnet/Edgware. No service on the Mill Hill East and Bank branches.

Piccadilly: Trains running on average every 10 minutes between Cockfosters and Heathrow Terminal 5. No service on the Terminal 4 loop, or between Acton Town and Uxbridge.

Long-term plans will see the overnight service extended to parts of the Metropolitan, Circle, District, and Hammersmith & City lines once modernisation programmes are complete, a spokesperson for TfL said in March, but gave no timetable.
