The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today announced the name of their new daughter, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, two days after she was born.
Bets on which name the Royal couple would choose had been mounting since the princess was born on Saturday morning, with both Charlotte and Alice coming through as the favourites.
The princess is fourth in line to the throne thanks to an intervention by the Queen, which puts her ahead of Prince Harry’s claim on the crown.
Prince Harry said that moving down the line of succession was “great,” and that he cannot wait to meet the new princess.
