Crowds flocked to Brighton beach yesterday as much of Britain continued to bask in temperatures of up to 27C (80.6F). However, forecasters have ruled out a repeat for next weekend, with the Jubilee holiday period expected to be much cooler.
Forecaster Sally Webb, of MeteoGroup, said temperatures will tail off through the week. By Thursday, the maximum will be 18C and similar temperatures are likely over the Jubilee bank holiday weekend.
