A taxi ablaze with large flames has been captured on video sending black smoke several storeys high at Glasgow Airport.

Footage of the burning white cab has been shared by BBC Scotland News from an overhead shot.

Strong flames are also shown burning predominantly from the front and middle seats of the taxi while it sits in the rank area.

Firefighters are also shown in full protective clothing putting out the flames with high-powered water, ducking as two small explosions emit from the front of the car.

The footage was first posted to Twitter and the fire is now believed to have been put out.

The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical fault.
