Two early morning trains from London to Paris were cancelled because of the walkout by around 70 train managers.
A total of 12 trains between London, Paris and Brussels were expected to be cancelled today, although 43 services were unaffected.
Eurostar switched passengers to services which were running and said it was confident travellers would be able to get to their destination despite the disruption.
The strikers, members of Aslef, are seeking a pay rise to close the gap between their wages and the earnings of Eurostar drivers.
