A series of planned strikes by workers on London's Docklands Light Railway were called off today after a new offer was made in a bid to resolve a pay row.
Members of the Rail Maritime and Transport union were due to stage a wave of walkouts from Friday but they will now be balloted on the offer, with a recommendation to accept.
RMT general secretary Bob Crow said: "Our members on the Docklands Light Railway have stood firm and delivered an overwhelming mandate for action which has enabled us to negotiate this new and improved offer from a position of strength."
