A dispute over disciplinary action against two workers on the Heathrow Express has been resolved, ending the threat of fresh strikes.

Members of the Rail Maritime and Transport union had taken strike action and were planning further stoppages, threatening disruption to rail services between Heathrow Airport and central London.

In a joint statement, the union and the company said the row over the dismissal of a worker and suspension from duty of another RMT member had been resolved.

"The full withdrawal of this industrial action follows from constructive discussions between the parties facilitated by Acas and these matters have been resolved to the satisfaction of both parties," said the statement.
