Snow and high winds are set to batter parts of the UK over the weekend, forecasters warn.
Blizzards will affect north and west coasts of Scotland from 9am today until midnight, the Met Office said. It also issued a snow warning for Orkney and Shetland, Highlands, Strathclyde, Tayside, Fife and central Scotland. And an ice alert for Northern Ireland, Wales and North-west England.
