Four coaches of a train derailed today near Virginia Water railway station in Surrey.

The coaches of the South West Trains 0821 service from Weybridge to Staines remained upright, but British Transport Police said three people were slightly injured. Several were treated for shock.

South West trains between Reading and Waterloo were cancelled after the derailment.

The incident occurred on the same stretch of track where last week a 60mph train ran into a bus stranded on a level crossing.
