Ian Fleming's confidential personal dossier on Her Majesty's best-known secret agent, James Bond, sold at Sotheby's yesterday for pounds 14,300. It contains the author's working-notes, type- written pages, many of them heavily annotated.

The notebook includes unused plots, scraps of dialogue and slick phrases. Fleming wrote of sex: 'The woman likes the door to be forced. Every time she likes it to be a rape. But the man sometimes likes to be raped too.'
