The Channel tunnel's pounds 24m Eurostar train ran into more difficulties yesterday when it was forced to switch tracks in the tunnel. The hitch, the fourth embarrassing breakdown, was caused by signalling problems rather than a fault on the 186mph train, which had 400 guests on board.
The train, travelling from Waterloo to Brussels, first had to slow down in the tunnel and then stopped before diverting across the service tunnel and on to the UK-bound track.
