'DNA' rape appeal
A rapist jailed for 11 years on DNA evidence which should have been removed from police records after he was acquitted of a previous charge of rape is to appeal. Lonsdale Nathaniel, 28, of Kennington, south-east London, was convicted of the robbery and rape of a 29-year-old woman at Wallington, Surrey, in 1989, based on blood samples taken from the earlier case and a semen sample from the victim.
