Woman arrested after person pictured 'urinating' on war memorial
Suspect awaiting questioning by Essex Police over alleged outraging of public decency
A 42-year-old woman has been arrested after a photograph of a female urinating on a war memorial was circulated on social media.
Essex Police said the woman, from the Grays area of the county, was arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency and is awaiting questioning.
The memorial, on Grays high street, commemorates the First World War, the Second World War and the Korean War.
The photograph was reportedly taken on the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.
