Two quizzed over chef's stabbing death

Detectives investigating the killing of a French chef stabbed after leaving a concert featuring the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra were today questioning two men.

Reynald Duchene, 37, of South Woodham Ferrers, Essex, became involved in an "altercation" with a group of men and women in Southend, Essex, late on Saturday, police said.

Officers said a 23-year-old man was arrested in Southend on suspicion of murder on Tuesday and a 21-year-old man was arrested in Southend on suspicion of murder today.

Mr Duchene had been watching the Concert in the Park in Priory Park, Southend, with partner Paula Haddlesey, her teenage children and friends, and was attacked in a nearby street shortly after leaving, police said.

:: Police said two men, aged 18 and 19 and from Southend, were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of murder. A spokeswoman said both men had been released on police bail without charge pending further investigation. Both were due to answer bail on August 6, she added.
