Tommy Sheridan's wife cleared of perjury
The wife of former MSP Tommy Sheridan walked free from the High Court in Glasgow yesterday after she was cleared of perjury.
The Crown dropped charges against Gail Sheridan, 46. She was accused of making false statements as a witness during her husband's successful defamation case against the News of the World in 2006. It had printed allegations that he visited a swingers' club.
Mr Sheridan still faces charges of perjury, which he denies.
