Third controlled blast in Bristol
An army bomb disposal team carried out a third controlled explosion at the home of a 19-year-old terror suspect in Bristol yesterday morning after police found "suspect" materials. Officers will now begin the painstaking task of analysing the materials as part of what they have described as a "long and complex" investigation.
Detectives, who refused to officially name him, were granted seven days to hold the teenage suspect, named locally as Andrew Ibrahim, on Friday night.
Mr Ibrahim, said to be a recent convert to Islam, was arrested on Thursday under the Terrorism Act after an intelligence tip-off led to a covert operation.
