Teenager murdered father of five
A teenager was today found guilty of murdering a father of five.
Lithuanian Deividas Kuprescenka, 18, "repeatedly assaulted" DIY worker Jabbar Ali, 33, who was found with severe head injuries in a gutter near his home in Searjeant Street, Peterborough on January 17.
Ipswich Crown Court heard that Mr Ali, who did not regain consciousness after the attack, died six days later at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
His wife and his sister wept in court after the guilty verdict was returned.
Outside the court his sister Azra Bi said Kuprescenka was an "evil monster" who brutally killed her brother.
She said: "He is a murderer and a liar.
"He has been lying throughout the trial. Before he was arrested he and his girlfriend concocted a pack of lies about my brother."
Mr Ali's elder brother Zulifqar Ali said: "We always had faith in the British justice system.
"We are really glad that our brother has been cleared of the lies the defence made up about him.
"Justice has been done and our brother can finally rest in peace."
