A 16-year-old mother was questioned on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a baby's body at a railway station.

The newborn baby girl was discovered by a cleaner in a plastic bag inside a bin outside Fleet Station in Hampshire last Wednesday.

Police said the baby had suffered significant injuries that were not caused during birth.

The teenager from Hampshire came forward last Friday after an appeal by police for her to seek medical attention.

A Hampshire police spokeswoman said she was being interviewed by detectives.
