Teenage mother charged over baby's death
A teenage mother has been charged over the death of her eight-month-old daughter, police said today.
Shannan Woods, 19, is accused of causing or allowing the death of a child and will attend court next month.
Police were called to a flat in Pool Close, West Molesey, Surrey, on December 18 last year. Woods's baby was taken to St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey, where she was later pronounced dead.
A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death was immersion.
Woods will attend Staines Magistrates' Court on July 6.
