A man suspected of attempting to stab a woman to death has been charged by police.

Liam Hanley, 32, will appear before court accused of the attempted murder of a 36-year-old woman in Shoreham Beach, West Sussex, on Tuesday evening.

Sussex police were alerted at 8.15pm to reports of a victim with multiple stab wounds, following the alleged attack at a property on Sussex Wharf.

She was taken to hospital in a serious, but not life-threatening condition.
