Suspect held over homeless man's killing
A 24-year-old man was arrested at an airport today by British detectives investigating the brutal murder of a homeless man in a seaside city.
Michael Bishop was held at Stansted Airport after being deported by the Turkish Cypriot authorities who arrested him earlier this month on suspicion of illegally entering northern Cyprus.
Bishop was wanted for questioning by detectives investigating the killing of Stuart Slade, 35, who was found with chest wounds in Hampton Place, Brighton, East Sussex, on December 30.
Officers from Sussex Police's major crime branch brought Bishop back to Brighton for questioning after producing an arrest warrant as he landed at Stansted Airport.
