Detectives have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after a 17-year-old girl was found dead.

Detectives have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after a 17-year-old girl was found dead.

He was taken from a house in Tideford, Cornwall, and is being questioned at Charles Cross Police Station in Plymouth.

Police had earlier confirmed they were searching for 44-year-old Stanley Matthews.

The teenager's badly decomposed body was discovered last night at isolated Brandispiece Cottage, near Tideford.

The cottage was the home of Matthews and his girlfriend Patricia Berriman, 17.

Officers have yet to confirm the identity of the dead girl.
