Student in court accused of schoolgirl's murder
A student appeared in court today charged with the murder of a schoolgirl found stabbed to death in a block of flats.
Thomas Nugusse is accused of stabbing Arsema Dawit, 15, up to 10 times in a frenzied attack.
Arsema was found by a neighbour lying in a pool of blood in a lift in the block of flats where she lived with her family, near Waterloo railway station in central London, on Monday.
Nugusse was remanded in custody when he appeared before Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court today.
The 21-year-old, of St Francis Way, Ilford, Essex, will next appear before the Old Bailey on 21 August.
Nugusse, wearing a white long-sleeved top and grey tracksuit bottoms, stood in the dock with his arms folded flanked by two male guards and one female.
He spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
