A “dangerous” 27-year-old man who shot another man during a brawl in a north London street has been jailed.

Armand Krasniqi was caught on CCTV with the weapon in the middle of a fight in Wood Green at around 11pm on 25 August 2016.

Two men are captured in the footage fighting as members of the public look on.

A number of others then become involved and one man hands what appears to be a gun to Krasniqi.

He takes the weapon, holds it at waist-height and fires at the victim, who falls to the ground.

The surrounding men then run away and the victim manages to limp from the scene.

The victim later attended hospital, but his injuries were not life-threatening, the Metropolitan Police said.

Witness accounts led to Krasniqi being identified as the man firing the gun in the CCTV, according to police.

Forensics later confirmed Krasniq was responsible. He was arrested on 16 September and was charged the following day.

DC Sanjeev Sharma, the investigating officer from the Met’s Trident and Area Crime Command, said: “I am pleased we have taken a dangerous man off the streets of London.

“I’d like to thank the members of public who have assisted us with ensuring Krasniqi was brought to justice.

“Trident officers work relentlessly to arrest and prosecute anyone who possesses an illegal gun. The significant custodial sentence Krasniqi has received reflects the seriousness with which the courts regard this crime.”

Krasniqi – of Griffin Road in Tottenham – was jailed at Wood Green Crown Court for 10 years for wounding with intent and four years for the firearm offence. Both sentences are set to run concurrently.
