Soldier arrested over lover's death

A British soldier has been arrested on suspicion of murder after his girlfriend was found stabbed to death in Greater Manchester.

Ian Lowe, 24, was arrested on Sunday evening after Leanne McNuff, also 24, was found knifed to death at her home in Droylsden. Her body was discovered by family members in the home she shared with her four-year-old son, Jayden. Police fear that the young boy may have witnessed the attack, it was reported last night.

Officers were called at about 7.45pm by the ambulance service.
