Six people were in police custody yesterday following the death of a teenager thought to have fallen from the third floor of a building.

Jake Johnson, 19, was taken to hospital after plunging 30ft into an alleyway at around 11pm on Christmas Day, but he died a few hours later. The building he reportedly fell from is between Rodney Road and the Regent Arcade in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Two men, aged 18 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after the incident. Four people were arrested later and all six remain in custody. A police spokesman said: "Six people are under arrest in total. All of them are still in custody while inquiries are ongoing."
