Seven-year-old girl who died on bike on main road named as April Reeves

April Reeves was hit on the A371 near Weston-Super-Mare on 28 May 2015, police are still appealing for witnesses

A seven-year-old girl who died after being hit by a car while riding her bike on a main road, has been named.

April Reeves was hit on the A371 near Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset at around 3pm on 28 May 2015, and died after she was knocked off her bike on the busy road.

April’s family have said they are completely devastated by her death and added that she was greatly loved by all her family and friends.

They’ve asked for the media to respect their privacy so they can come to terms with their loss.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said at the scene: "Sadly, the little girl died at the scene as a result of her injuries. Our thoughts are with her family at this tragic time.

"The incident took place on the A371 between RAF Locking and The Helicopter Museum.”

Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident to contact them.
