A senior police officer today denied shoplifting make-up, a court said.

Kim Molloy, a Chief Inspector with Nottinghamshire Police, pleaded not guilty to a single charge of theft at Derby Crown Court today, an official said.

Prosecutors allege that the 44-year-old, who is currently suspended, stole Max Factor make-up worth £12.72 from a Tesco Extra store in Top Valley, Nottingham, on November 24 2009.

The court official said the case was adjourned for a trial in the week beginning November 8, and Molloy was granted bail.
