Ronnie Wood arrested 'for assaulting girlfriend'
Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood was held overnight by police over claims that he assaulted his 20-year-old Russian girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova.
The 62 year-old guitarist was released on bail yesterday after his arrest in the high street of Claygate, Esher, Surrey, by officers called to reports of an assault. Miss Ivanova, a former cocktail waitress for whom Wood left his wife of 24 years, reportedly claimed he attacked her during a row.
Surrey police confirmed that a 62-year-old Esher man had been arrested after a "domestic incident." A spokesman added that he was released on bail yesterday afternoon "until a date in January, pending further enquiries."
Last month Wood was divorced by his wife Jo after admitting adultery. He reportedly agreed to pay £11m, believed to be around half of his fortune, to his former wife in an out-of-court settlement.
