Radios and items of uniform have been stolen during a break-in at a police station.

The robbery at the office in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, happened between midnight and 6.45am yesterday.

The station is open between 7am and midnight every day.

Strathclyde Police said the stolen radios have been disabled and cannot be used.

A spokeswoman said: "Inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the break-in and to trace those responsible.

"At no stage has the safety of the public or any officer been jeopardised as a result of the break-in."
