Pete Doherty's manager on hit and run charge

The manager of rock star Pete Doherty appeared in court today charged over a hit-and-run crash in which a man was critically injured.

Andrew Boyd, 42, of north London, appeared at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates' Court accused of a number of offences relating to the crash in Hadleigh, Suffolk, on September 27.

He is charged with failing to stop at the scene of a road accident, failing to report a road accident, driving "without reasonable consideration" and dangerous driving.

He is also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice, driving other than in accordance with a licence, and driving without insurance.

Pedestrian Chris Corder, 42, was seriously injured in the crash and remains in a coma at the Royal London Hospital.

Outside court his three older sisters said Mr Corder was in a "serious but stable" condition.

Boyd was bailed - on condition he does not drive any motor vehicle - to return to Ipswich Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on December 3.
